Bamboo Vs. Egyptian Cotton

What are Bamboo Sheets?

Bamboo sheets are made from the fibers of the bamboo plant. These bamboo fibers are long, thin, and fine, that’s why bamboo sheets with lower thread count are comparable to cotton sheets with a higher thread count. With this, Bamboo sheets continue to provide the luxurious and soft feel that feels much like high quality cotton sheets.

*Thread count refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch

What are Cotton Sheets?

Cotton is the most commonly used material for making sheets. With lower thread count (200-300), it can feel scratchy and it’s more likely to pill. While those made with higher thread count (400-700) can feel more luxurious and soft to touch. This is where the rule of thumb, “higher thread count means higher quality” comes from.

Egyptian Cotton, is known to be the highest quality among its cotton counterparts. It is finely made therefore, you can get soft set of sheets with a high thread count.
